Roger and I just got back from a short trip to Mt. Rainier. We stayed at Longmire in the National Park Inn. It rained. We got just a few peeks at the mountain so we took pictures of the wildflowers and wildlife and the re-construction at Paradise. Neither of us had been to the Mountain for several years. We were surprised that there were not more people there. I guess many people were put off by the flood damage from last winter's storms. Much of the damage has been...circumvented if not repaired. In some ways I think it makes for a more interesting trip. The mud slides caused huge trees and boulders to slide down the mountainsides to block and move riverbeds. What power! All caused by rain.
We plan to go back to Longmire late January and maybe to camp at Ohanapecosh next July when the wildflowers are at top bloom.
I'll post a picture or two when I've had a chance to look at them.
