a ride-along. We really needed this get-away. It doesn't FEEL like we're grieving, but there is a lethargy that I've learned is me trying NOT to deal with things. This ride gave us time to both deal with and ignore things. We also learned that we need to find a good lunch place in East Portland. We ended up going home by way of Mt. Rainier and stopped at Tipsoo Lakes. We have pictures of my Grandma Welling at Tipsoo Lakes in the 1940s (in trousers!) It was so foggy we could not see the parking lot from the road, much less the lakes. But the wildflowers were beautiful!
