What you need to know about me is that 20-some years ago I was a Systems Analyst. I took a very long maternity leave and recently went back to work as a web manager for the company my husband has worked for for over 30 years. During my “maternity leave” I kept up my computer skills and learned others like “pixel wrangling” which is what I call digital scrapbooking or making slides to use as the background for my church’s projection of hymn words. I had also spent many years in Bible studies, sometimes teaching. There comes a time to get out of the rut and that time is now.
I had been saying that working on websites would be a good job for someone like me who had kept up their skills and didn’t want to drive into Seattle all the time. My husband’s boss said that their website had been abandoned and he wished he had someone to keep it up. Roger volunteered me! So I had a job before I had all the skills. The company sent me to school and I’ve been working from home on the website for over a year now. It’s a great company; and while I’m not highly skilled, I’m enjoying the challenge of the job.
But wait, that’s not all the changes…
