I was just looking at a book on blogging and realized that I have a weekly "thought" that I do for our Women Of The Word Bible study worship time. I should include those in my blog and kinda capture and share them.
Last week I had thrown the songs together:
Praise To The Lord The Almighty,
I Love To Tell The Story,
Revive Us Again and God of Grace and
God of Glory.
They didn't seem to have much in common. God directed me to 1 Corinthians 12 and how there is one body and many parts and each of us is given a different spiritual gift that can work with our native gifts. Each of us is unique and yet together we are the body. It is amazing to me that the next passage is the one we all love so much: 1 Corinthians 13 "If I speak in the tongues of men and angels and do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal." I had already chosen the music for this week several weeks ago:
Wonderful Words Of Life,
The Love of God
(Could we with ink the ocean fill
and were the skies of parchment made,
were ev'ry stalk on earth a quill
and every man a scribe by trade.
To write the love of God above
would drain the ocean dry;
nor could the scroll contain the whole
tho stretched from sky to sky.)
Jesus the very thought of Thee and
Our Great Savior.
Words are only empty if they don't mean anything to us. God wrote His love on our hearts.
