Just got back from our first cruise and we went to Alaska. It felt like a nod to those who have gone before us. Both sets of our parents loved Alaska. Roger's sister who died a year ago cruised Alaska several times and all over the world. Roger had a great uncle who went to the Klondike gold fields over a century ago.
We enjoyed the vacation and loved what we saw. I think our favorite was Tracey Arm - a narrow fjiord with Sawyer Glacier at the end. Awesome! We also got to hike around Mendenhall Glacier, see spawning salmon in both Juneau and Ketchikan, tramp around a ghost town, pan for gold, ride the White Pass & Yukon Railroad from Skagway, AK to Fraser, BC, use our new passports for the first time and eat a lot.
